The Aspire Area Partnership Committee (APC) is responsible for the strategic direction of the project and for financial oversight. The group is chaired by Dave Newson, Southwark EiC, and consists of senior representatives from HE, FE, Sixth Form Colleges, Boroughs and Schools.
The Project Planning Sub-Group is a sub-committee of the APC consisting of the Chair, Vice Chair and sector representatives and deals with matters on behalf of the APC. It meets on a regular basis and reports back to the APC.
Ongoing project management is overseen by the
, Project Coordinator, together with Helen Armstrong, Acting Deputy Coordinator and Annamari Ylonen, Aspire Researcher, working from an office at the University of Greenwich.
Specialist Group meetings The Project Co-ordinator and Aspire Project Officers working in HE, FE and the Boroughs meet termly to coordinate activities.
HE Project Officers organise a range of activities including summer schools. School and college coordinators can also approach Project Officers to request bespoke activities.
Further Education Project Officers have responsibility for both inreach and outreach. Activities are offered to schools but Project Officers will also try to respond to individual requests.
Consultation To reflect the importance the partnership attaches to collaborative working within sectors and sharing of effective strategies between colleagues from different parts of the education system, a termly consultative meeting is held:
Operations Group Project staff from HE, FE and Sixth Form College and Borough Coordinators meet to discuss and act on relevant common issues and to plan jointly. The group also feeds into the APC.
